A very nice walk under the huge hundred years old plane trees will lead you to the splendid waterfall of Sillans (42 metres). The Bresque and Argens rivers as well as the spring coming from the small valley of L'Ourcq cascade down into a whirling and very romantic small lake. Free time lovers will appreciate, among others,
the riding club and the tennis of Sillans.
Sentier Martel, the Sentier de L'Imbert which follows the bottom of the Gorges du Verdon, the Sentier GR45 and particularly a botanic one where rare species are being protected.
The Verdon will give you the possibility of
discovering its beatiful lakes, i.e The lake of Sainte Croix (14 km long and 12 km wide) and its marvellous beach where it is possible to rent pedalos or enjoy windsurfing. The lakes of Esparron, of
Quinson, of Carcès. You will discover very picturesque villages such as: Moustiers Sainte Marie is very famous for its earthenware ; examples of which can be admired in a nice local museum and in the village itself. Tourtour, also called "the
village in the sky", is one of the most beautiful villages of France and
is listed. Cotignac,
is a village full of character, also famous for the numerous artists and
personnalities living there. Villecroze with its grottos, its waterfall
and lovely walks along rare essences. Seillans, another magnificent,
unique village where there are tipical houses of shepherd "the
bories". Salernes, European capital of the
tiles and of the well-known "tomettes" of Provence. Enjoy also visiting the Thoronet Abbey which was founded in 1136 by some monks and which is one of the most beautiful Cistercian monuments of Provence.
